On Dreams.

YIN

Eyes wide shut and a patchwork image
Forms in the field of vision:
Blurred and vivid, gentle and savage
Ripples blow through in quick succession

Is it reality? Is it a dream?
To the mind’s eye it’s all but a mesh…
The day flushing past within night’s realm
And a new dawn starts afresh

The subconscious runs deep, and thoughts run free
Illusion and truth in a whirl
And a universe rises and falls in that spree
Dreams living a truth in night’s fall.

YANG

Eyes awaken to a vision of white
Blank with nothing in sight
Constant and monotonous
Frozen

This is the dream, unseen
The mind untouched, uncorrupt
This is the reality, unadulterated
The start and finish, undifferentiated

The conscious awakens, trapped
Imprisoned and bound in place
And a universe rises and falls in that still
The truth encompassing all of space.
